Live a Christmas in Menorca
December is a month full of magic, where the streets are filled with light and the sound of laughter from the little ones in the house. December is one of the most memorable months of the year because it's Christmas. In all parts of the world, the Christmas atmosphere is already breathed. Menorca dresses up to celebrate this special time and from Portal Menorca, we are going to take you with us on a tour of some of the activities that are going to take place on the island in honor of these festivities.
CHRISTMAS MARKETS
One of the most Christmas activities around the world is to visit the charming Christmas markets that the cities prepare, they say that the one in Berlin is one of the best in Europe. But you don't have to go that far to enjoy spectacular Christmas markets, because in Menorca we also have quite a few.
Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 December in Sant Lluís: the town's Christmas market will take place, in which a multitude of complementary activities are also organized to energize the atmosphere.

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES
Children are the ones who enjoy these festivities the most a priori and that is why many activities are aimed especially at them, let's discover some.

In all the libraries on the island, a children's workshop to create mobiles inspired by the artist Alexander Calder will be held during the month of December, organized by Hauser & Wirth. You can find more information in your nearest library or in the activity programs of each town hall.
And we are not going to forget one of the most anticipated moments for children each year: the parade of kings; and a few days before the delivery of his letters to the pages of their majesties. You will find all the schedules in the activity programs of your town hall.
CHRISTMAS MUSIC
An important part of these parties is music. The Christmas carols have not stopped playing since the beginning of the month, the children reciting their poems, and your favorite groups entertaining special moments, either live or on the radio. We are going to enjoy together some of the musical activities scheduled for these days:

Tuesday, December 20 in Es Castell: The municipal music school will go out to sing Christmas carols throughout the town starting at 5 pm, leaving from the town hall.
FIRST DAWN OF THE YEAR
One of the most special things you can do in Menorca at Christmas is to see the first sunrise of the year, and since Es Castell is the easternmost city in Spain, you will be the first to see the king's sunrise. And being the first day of the year, I'm sure you won't have to get up early because you'll still be up. But if that day you feel more like having a hot "chocolate with churros" than watching the sun, you can always watch the sunset the following night.
What we have presented here is nothing more than a selection, so do not hesitate to visit the websites of the different town halls of the island to find out about all the scheduled activities. Or simply walk downtown to enjoy the Christmas lights while having a hot chocolate in a cafeteria.
Now that you know the best plans to do in Menorca at this time of year, comes the difficult part: deciding how to organize the time to be able to get to all the events you have marked on your calendar.
